The Summer of the First Time Voters!
Hello Everyone,
Historically voters turn out in mid term elections is very low. But remember: in 2008, we all committed to CHANGE! And as you know, it did not stop on November 4th, 2008 or on January 20th, 2009. OFA, that’s us, that’s YOU, OFA is again going to show that we can make a difference.On June 20th, our Center City East team had an organizational meeting with members of Ward5 and Ward2.During the summer we plan to do the following:- Weekly phone banks
- Canvassing of 2008 First Time Voters in Ward 2 to “clean up the lists” in preparation of November 2010 GOTV
- Visibility/Voter Registration events at festivals, rallies and parades
- Blogging on our web site and other sites
What you can do:
- Check frequently for events on MyBo and sign up
- Create events yourself! If you need help to come up with events, to organize them or if you need supply, email Christiane by clicking the link below...
- Come up with new ideas: for example registration of voters at naturalization ceremonies?
- Check our website often, send stories and photos to Stephen, our webmaster by clicking the link below...
- Join us at our next monthly meeting, July 25 (time and venue TBA)
