Senator Feingold to Discuss Obama Policies

Senator Russ Feingold (D.-Wisc.) will discuss the policies of Senator Barack Obama  and the 2008 Presidential election at a special gathering on Monday, Oct. 20, at 2:30 p.m. at The Watermark at Logan Square in the 4th Floor Library/Lounge. Sen. Feingold is an independent voice for the nation in the U.S. Senate--an effective legislator who works across party lines, and a respected leader in both domestic and foreign policy.  Well known for pushing through the McCain-Feingold Bill on campaign finance reform in the U.S. Senate, Sen. Feingold has also been a tireless advocate for restoring fiscal discipline in Congress and reducing the federal deficit. Get Out the Vote Training - This Friday!

This Friday, October, 17th, 2008 we will be rolling the Get Out the Vote (GOTV) training for Center City East Ward 5 and Senator Obama needs your help. This training will focus on the last weekend before and including the Election Day. Volunteers who attend this training need to be available all weekends up to and including November 4, 2008.  More importantly, the people who are getting trained this Friday will be in charge of numerous volunteers who will be coming to our Office to help out GOTV. It takes place at 1500 Sansom St., 4th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19102 (map) at 7:00PM. The training should last about an hour and a half. Special Canvass Kick-Off

On Saturday, Oct. 18, the Center City East Neighborhood Team will have a special canvass kick-off with Congressman Mike Honda, Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, at 11 a.m.  in the Center City East Field Office at 115 N. 9th Street (map).  Mike Honda has represented the 15th Congressional District of California since 2001.  He is Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and a member of the Appropriations Committee, and in January, 2007, he was named House Democratic Senior Whip.
